Heather King is our second interpreting student from Heriot-Watt University.

Hello! My name is Heather King. I am here on placement from Heriot-Watt University where I am studying BSL interpreting. Annabel was the student here before me. We have switched places which makes me ‘the new Annabel’ for this semester. Before I moved to Scotland I lived in America and grew up in Texas. The first sign language I learned was ASL and I only began learning about Deaf culture in Scotland, British Deaf history and BSL when I moved here. I’m excited to start working on some of the projects happening here at Deaf History Scotland! I hope to meet a lot of new people and have an opportunity to learn about your stories, Deaf history and Deaf culture in this country. I look forward to meeting you! Bye!
